This week's project

The Brilliant New Hire

Pick one real task you'd normally hand a capable new colleague — drafting an update, summarising a long document, planning your week — and delegate it to Claude as if you were briefing that new hire. First write the lazy one-line version, then rewrite it as a proper brief (context, what good looks like, constraints) and compare the two outputs. The point is to feel, on your own work, how much the mindset shift changes the result.

Deliverable: A short before/after write-up of ONE real task: your weak first prompt, your improved brief, and 3–4 sentences on what changed in the output and why.

Done when

✓The task is a genuine piece of your own work, not a generic example.
✓Shows two prompts — a lazy first attempt and a properly briefed version with context and 'what good looks like'.
✓Names which of the 4D Framework moves (Delegation, Description, Discernment, Diligence) you applied.
✓Runs the Traffic Light check and notes anything you'd redact before pasting it in.
✓Includes a short reflection on the difference the better brief made.
