1. Who we are

Startup Coach Limited ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales with its registered office at 9 Rutherglen Close, Rugeley, WS15 2TA, operates trainrs.ai and is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us about privacy at hello@trainrs.ai.

2. What we collect

  • Enquiries and registration: your name, work email, company, role and anything you tell us in the form when you register interest or join a cohort.
  • Learner account: your email address, name and chosen role track, plus sign-in records.
  • Learning records: your cohort, session attendance, weekly progress, checklists and submitted coursework — so we can run the course, mark your work and support you.
  • Payment details are handled by our payment provider; we don't store card numbers.
  • Website analytics: anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (see Cookies below) — we can't identify you from them.

3. How we use it, and why we're allowed to

  • To deliver the course you've bought (contract): accounts, schedules, attendance, marking, certificates.
  • To respond to enquiries and send course-related emails (contract / legitimate interests).
  • To send the alumni newsletter or marketing (consent / legitimate interests) — you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
  • To improve the website and course (legitimate interests), using aggregated, anonymous data.
  • To meet legal obligations, such as accounting records.

4. Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We share it only with service providers who help us run trainrs.ai, under contracts that protect it:

  • Supabase — secure database and sign-in for the learner portal.
  • Vercel — website hosting.
  • Plausible — privacy-friendly, cookieless website analytics.
  • Email and payment providers used to contact you and take payment.
  • If your employer pays for your place, we may share enrolment, attendance and completion status with them — but not your individual coursework without your agreement.

Some providers process data outside the UK/EEA; where they do, transfers are protected by recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy decisions.

5. How long we keep it

  • Enquiry data: up to 2 years after our last contact.
  • Learner accounts and learning records: for the course and up to 6 years afterwards (so we can verify certificates and meet accounting obligations).
  • You can ask us to delete your account sooner — see your rights below.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Email hello@trainrs.ai and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

7. Security

Learner data is stored with access controls so you can only see your own records and trainers can only see their cohorts. Sign-in uses one-time email codes/links rather than passwords. Course files are served through expiring, signed links.

8. Changes

We'll post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date at the top.
